Couldn't find anything about this - 2004 model, low miles (70k). Rear wiper comes on from time to time. If car has been left - for an hour or a couple of days - when a door opened, on comes the rear wiper! Sweeps 6 times (~) then parks where it likes. Seems to be ok if switched 'on' or also if I go in reverse when front wipers are 'on'. Sometimes comes on just because I've gone into reverse (no front wipers 'on').
Is this likely to be easy to fix?

I should have also mentioned, when the wiper comes on when door opened - whether door had been locked or not.

This sounds like a broken wire in the flexible loom going from the body to the tailgate. Probably the earth wire but possibly more.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
