synergie 1.9 TD , water sensors?

Post by Harlequin »

Synergie 1.9TD - having changed the electro valve - fast idle is not turning off when its warm. so any idea which of the water sensors it could be? is the synergie TD engine bay colour coded ? if it is then its the one behind the fuel filter (green plug , 1338 78) , if not - any idea`s?

Do you have the wax stat valve on the thermostat housing still ? The one with the bowden type cable to the pump.

I only ask as some did and some did not when they started to change the XUD to be electronic advance...

no its not the wax stat - its an electro valve which activates when either the engine is cold , or the aircon buttons Is pressed

Bitron sensor then.

Green usually for ECU , was not aware XUD had this one actually. Then again its ECU controlled pump...
Brown(ish) for Bitron (the one you want I'd suspect)
Blue (if fitted) tends to be a single pin and is for the gauge and / or the 'too hot!' light in the temp gauge.

the sensors I can see into the cooling system are part numbers 12 , 14 and 16

edit:

16 does have an issue with the plug part - its snapped off so isn't a tight and snug fit . but removing does trigger the fans to full

12 is green

I would say 16 as that is the Bitron. The problem now is (as what you've said) is it appears to work correctly as unplugging it should bring the fans on, that is normal and the 'quick test' for it.

If you temporarily rule that one out, unplug one of the others. Now check if the temp gauge is dead. The only possibility is it is the one that does not effect the gauge really. At least as I see it.
Andy.

Post up the last 8 digits of the VIN and I'll see if I can find a wiring diagram for it.

Sorry, no Synergie diagrams in the version I have got... You could do with getting it on a Lexia to see what temp the ECU is seeing.

I can check the 806 1.9TD diagrams this evening (or tomorrow morning can't be sure when) which should be about the same. Not sure if this is going to be of any use.
