Diagbox installation problem

Post by atr »

Hi
I'm trying to install the Diagbox software that was supplied to me with the Lexia. that was partially successful since I'm not able to activate it. there is the activation window that opens and asking me to enter the activation code. from what I've seen on the web, the code is "scary01" all my attempts to activate it were in vain and I'm getting a message that the activation failed. could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I dont know if it means anything - it is a chinese clone (I've asked the supplier if it's compatible with the C5 since I've seen on the forum that there were some compatibility issues in some cases and was assured by him that it is).
one more thing - I've installed it on my laptop with windows7 o.s.
looking forward for your replies.

Did you select 'Manual Installation'? Was your network card enabled and working whilst activating (should be). There is a wealth of videos on the web about installing and activating - best to search there as there's not much else to add. Did the place you bought it from provide any support? Try installing the installtion as administrator (even if you have an admin account) and also in XP Service Pack 2 or 3 compatibility modes (try both).

Hello Marc,

I have tried all of your suggestions, running in compatibility mode of both xp sp2, and 3, with or without internet connection.
On each attempt the same error popped up http://imgur.com/H1z6jgk.

I hope you know of a fix to this problem.

If you've done everything else correctly, then this might be the culprit, the only way around it is to install in an XP box....

I have successfully installed Diagbox (version 7.06, upgraded to 7.15) on a Windows 7 Starter netbook, and it does run cleanly (barring the known glitches that happen). The O/S is 32bit.

I've had exactly the same issue.

I've attempted to install it on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, using virtual drives, I've tried everything that has been suggested to me.

I can get Diagbox to install v7.01 and it will work perfectly well until I close down and restart Diagbox, which means it automatically unpdates to v7.02. Then, all I get is the activation error message.

I've followed the installation video to the letter and every time I tried, it failed.

I am able to get v7.02 working when I ignore the "scary01" code, and use the independent dealer info I have (which I got from Peugeot Servicebox). However, this doesn't give me the full range on vehicles!!!!

So, I've fobbed it off and just use the separate PP2000 and Lexia installations

Yes, Lexia is too old for your car - it only works for circa 2007 and earlier vehicles - but you shouldn't need to worry about that as Diagbox already includes Lexia and Peugeot Planet built in - which will automatically launch depending on the vehicle and year.

Your issue is an activation issue. If the software is not installed correctly, it will throw up a wobbly like this. If you have previously attempted to install it and then reinstalled it - that won't work. Once it has been deactivated it needs fully cleaning out the system before you can attempt it again.

You MUST have your network / WiFi card enabled for installation - just don't allow it to connect to any networks - so best if you remove any network connections to your router and make sure the 'Automatically Connect' is turned off so the network can't automatically reconnect to an internet connection.

The hardware MAC code is used in your WiFI / Network card to activate the device and if you have it switched off or disabled it won't activate.

There are other possible issues to but this is the most common for this error.

VMs can bring their own suite of problems, but these are generally on the communications front - ensuring the USB ports are active and allowing passthrough.

Stick to Windows 7 32 bit if you can and make sure '.Net Framework 3.5' is installed.

I always connect the interface before opening the program. The older Lexia program wouldn’t even open properly unless you had the VCI pligged in.

Thanks, do you have it connected to car as well? or just the laptop?
