Sunroof....setting the PARK position

Post by Stickyfinger »

Got any tips gents, to adjust it (it sits a little low atm).....it needs constant tapping of the button to get it to sit in a position that does not make a constant wind rush noise.
Or
Is it the seal, it does not leak btw.

Mines the opposite, if you tilt it up then come back down you have to go past then back up otherwise it whistles! Would be interesting to see if theres a way of sorting it, as if you open it right up it closes fine (so coming up seals fine, going down doesnt!)

I borrowed this from the Honest John site, it's Renault but maybe........................

Unfourtunatley my Renault workshop CD's do not cover the scenic 2 however looking at the laguna2 manual it seems to indicate that the motor has lost "home" and needs to be calibrated.

1/ is it controlled by a knob?

If it is then

1 set sunroof switch to maximum tilt postion
2 press and hold the switch after two seconds the sunroof will tilt to maximum postion in step by step mode then drop down a few cm's
3 release the switch
4 press the switch again within 5 seconds
5 keep the switch depressed the sunroof will open then close in the slide postion
6 the motor is initialised
7 set the switch to stop

Note the delay between two successive action must not exceed 5 seconds during the actions above or the computer will stop initialising the system

Note the anti pinch function can be disabled to overcome a hard stop point (bent rail, dirt etc) - maintain the press until the sun roof is closed in step by step mode.

Note in the event of failure the sunroof can be closed by using an allen key in the motor shaft
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Nothing so clever on a MK1 Xant!

By the looks of it, you just slack off the 4 screws (2 on each side) that hold the glass in and should be visible with the inner blind open, then adjust the height of the glass so that the highest point of the seal in the centre of the car is 2mm above the roof front and back of the sunroof. Doesn't sound awfully easy on your own!!
