Lexia on C5 X7 2009

Post by renagade »

I was just wondering (as you do ) if there any other "things" that I can enable on my C5 X7 with the lexia.

DRL's
folding mirrors on locking
automatic window up on locking
????????????

Just wondering
There are so many roads to travel but so little time, (Paul Cofield )

For the folding mirrors, you need to actually have folding mirrors fitted to the car (there are mirror variants available that don't have motors in them, quick ways to tell - check the mirror position switch selector, if it has the down movement - that you can manually fold/unfold them, then you have motors - and you can make use of the fold-on-lock feature) ... Automatic windows closing on locking, to be honest, first I'm hearing this on the X7 ... an "automatic" mode already exists if you long press the locking button on the remote, all the open windows will fully close - maybe that's what you meant?

DRLs can be turned off and on from the dash menu, no need for a Lexia to do that.

Not true ... if it is disabled with Lexia, you won't have that option in the dash menu in the first place ... as can any other dash option be turned on/off (made inaccessible for the driver)

Doesn't do that on mine. Perhaps only on the pre-facelift models?

My Windows also close on locking, but you have to make sure the first press is a long press until they close, then you can press again to deadlock.

What the X7 doesn't do that I know my 2001 SX did do, was open the windows with the key fob by about half an inch, then about 2 inches and finally on the third press close them back up. The fob's third button had a window symbol on. This feature is not available on the X7, neither is the auto closing of the Windows when it starts raining.

As Vab says, these functions must be enabled via Lexia first in order to appear on the menu in the first place - the same goes for the Driver Welcome Function, lighting options, and Plip locking options and Electronic Parking Brake options (although EPB was removed from later software updates, but can be re-enabled).

The DRLs were not enabled by default on UK pre-2010/11 IIRC models as it wasn't required by law at the time, so they were shipped with the feature disabled and the option not available on the dash menu until enabled at Lexia level. The facelifted X7 then had LED DRLs which were enabled.

Mine is a 2010, didn't do any extra configuration on it ... and, that mechanism is explained in the user manual on the key remote operation
