Re: Which car did you first learn to drive in?
Not altogether Jim. We had a Standard 8 as a first car and as a family went all over the place in it, out driving around most weekends.
It was replaced with a split-screen moggy which saw similar service.

Must have just been us then... Perhaps not hard to see where I get it from... I'm the same. If I can avoid driving I will...

I do VAGUELY remember some professor type dude that always sounded like he was 10 parts to the wind, on helium and probably some other 'smarties' coloured pills that always talked backwards, but must of been while I was in the womb!Paul-R wrote:Paul-R wrote:Ah, the sunnygold and the purimost. At the risk of sending the (excellent) thread am I the only one who remembers/understands the reference?GiveMeABreak wrote:Now I'm completely lost, beam me up!

Re: Which car did you first learn to drive in?
From a Gales Honey advert he did......."Sunnyglow and purimost" maybe rather than sunnygold? Probably one without a you tube clip to confirm but this interview (1998) with the man himself is my source.Paul-R wrote:Ah, the sunnygold and the purimost.
...Small Faces fans will remember their their concept album "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" which features Stanley Unwin on the track "Happiness Stan".

You are probably correct Neil - thanks for correction. It was indeed Gales Honey I was thinking of.

I remember him quite well, he was rather hard work though.
I'm sure it was the "Tonight" show with Cliff Michelmore that brought him to light.
