Sill repair

Post by superloopy »

My 1995 TD has had a couple of patches to the sills over the past couple of years which have been 'dressed'.. i use the term loosely ... with a slap of underseal which is now looking not so good. Whats the best way to sort her out and best stuff to use to 'blend' with existing dimpled bottom stonechip coat? Is there a technique?

This stuff put on with a gun, although may be an aerosol version now.

I've used Upol Gravitex in the past. It's supposed to be sprayed it on with a schultz gun and if you've got access to a compressor then that's the best way to do it.
If you haven't got a compressor you can get away with brushing it on then sort of dimpling it with the end of the brush.
Then when it's gone off you can top coat straight over it.
