Synergie clutch fork, part number confusion? (also crankshaft oil seal question)

Post by Ianhw77k »

Just been on the phone to the local Citroën parts place, they say they can't get the clutch fork kit but the part number is 211529.
I've found some on ebay but they quote the part number as 211525, is this the same part? Reg of vehicle is N427 AFS.

I also want to change the crankshaft oil seal while I'm there, any ideas where I can get one? I'm loathed to call citroen again as they just have no interest in helping anyone out unless their car is a lot more recent than mine.

Thanks in advance. Ian.

Do not overlook the Peugeot dealer if you wanted 'original' parts as this is an 806 with a different badge.

Rear crank oil seal assembly should be the same as the 806 1.9TD and the 406 1.9TD on these, if not more models.

211529 is correct and it matches the 806 1.9TD one as well. bear in mind this is the fork and release arm (they come in a bag) as you can't buy just the 'fork' as such. Its listed as not available.

I'm assuming its the normal conventional push clutch, not the complicated 'pull' one. That arm does seem to be available but the part number is not shown properly on the diagram.

I'm not too bothered about original parts,as long as they work and are decent quality.
I can't find anything with that part number though, the best I've done so far is found a borg and beck clutch kit for a pretty reasonable £85+vat.
I'll try the local Peugeot dealers next.

Still no joy, it seems the part 211525 is for the FE gearbox and I have the ME box.
An Internet search comes up with practically nothing, apart from a possible one in Germany (I think) which is over €300!

I really don't want to have to scrap this car for the sake of a broken clutch fork. Truth be told, I can't afford to replace it anyway.

Does anyone know the differences between parts 211529 and 211525?
Can it be adapted to fit? I have access to lathes, welders, decent bench drills, a press etc.

There are 2 completely different setups. If you can PM me your VIN, I'll post the one you need.
Updated: Ok, so yours is the top Diagram (Part 211529) according to your VIN.
The BVE ME Part 211529 (part 4 on the Diag below is a combo of parts A, B & 9)

This is the other diagram and part so you can compare.
The BVM ML5T Part 211532 (part 4 on the Diag below is the fork and arm. The pin (10) is separate

The top diagram looks exactly like it. This is the part that I'm having so much trouble getting hold of.
Pictures of the part number 211525 look very similar, I'm just wondering what the differences are?

The only other option I can think of is to TIG weld the fork back together, which probably won't work.

Unfortunately, the part you need is 'NFP' - No longer in production, so choices are limited Ian. There are a load here as you have probably seen:
http://www.parts.loc8apart.co.uk/nav/au ... -Parts.php
The only ones that look vaguely similar to 211529 is the 211525 as you have already said - and they are about £40 - you could always get one, see if you could modify it and if not return it if no good.

Finally found a breakers who just got an ME box in. They're going to remove the fork and send it to me, I just hope it's the right part.
Unfortunately, this means I don't get a brand new kit including bushes etc. I'll try citroen again for the bushes but I don't hold out a lot of hope, the old ones will probably have to do.

Mine isn't quite like that one, different fork and shaft set up. The tube looks OK on mine but I'll see if I can get a replacement.

Is yours the fork that has a nylon bush in it and sits on a ball like the BX ones?

The fork on mine is welded onto the shaft with nylon bushes top and bottom. I'll get some pictures today as I'll have a bit more time, hopefully.

Here's my broken clutch fork, alongside the wrong part that literally just turned up!

Where can I go from here?

Short of waiting for a part to become available or some extensive scrappy searches - is it worth talking to a professional welder to see if they can repair it?
