It's important to know what year it is as the three variants can differ quite a lot.

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
Trim Level and Year would help - 200K - so thats 120K miles. If it's a petrol - hard to find these now, most were diesels, so you won't have to worry about a Diesel lParticulate Filter and Additive issues. The suspension is generally very reliable (assuming you have the Hydractive 3+ setup), High pressure fuel pumps can be hard to find second-hand for the petrol model (it was the same for the previous generation - pre 2008 petrol C5), as again most were diesels.
Again, if we are talking about an X7 2008 on, trim is generally solid and these are comfortable large cruisers. Personally, I would have a diesel as spares for the Petrol may be an issue going forward as the C5 is no longer being produced in the UK - if you are thinking of keeping it long term. You should be guaranteed to get new parts though for at least 5 years or so - but you'll find most dealers don't keep huge C5 parts stock - but those that do tend to be for the more common Diesel models.

Knowing the original posters country would also be helpful. While diesel cars are more common in the UK there are many countries where petrol cars far outsell diesel and thus would be a better choice for spares.

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
Hi guys
Thanks for your swift response. there actually two possible vehicles offered to me (both are petrol, diesel is less popular in these models in Israel).
one is 2007 with 204k km, 2lit petrol, as I've mentioned before, the other one is 2008 2lit. petrol about 170k km. both have the Israeli equivalent of MOT until 2/2017.
Looking forward for your comments.

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
The 2007 one will be a Mark II Facelift - is the 2008 an X7 (or sometimes called a Mark III) or a late Mark II Facelift? Completely different cars, so we need to know which it is.
Picture below shows from Left to Right a Mark 1, a Mark II Facelift and lastly, an X7 or Mark 3 for reference. These are Estates, obviously, but the front ends will be the same for the Saloons.

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
Ok, well previous advice still stands regarding the High Pressure fuel pumps - they are very rare to find second-hand and cost a tidy sum drom the dealer - if you can even get these at all, as this model's production ended over 9 years ago. I don't know how popular they are in Israel, - if petrol is the prevalent fuel, then you may have access to more second hand petrol C5s than elsewhere. The Mark II is a nice car to drive, lots of the bugs were ironed out over the Mark I. Just remember to keep a well-maintained and charged battery, heep the Earth points clean and more importantly, it would help to know somebody with a Lexia diagnostic kit (or buy a good one yourself) as you will need one of these to perform any meaningful diagnosis on Citroen / Peugeot cars.

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
Thanks for your detailed reply, Marc. if I got it right, the "worst case scenario" is the issue of the petrol pump. since there are quite a few C5's cruising here in Israel, I guess that there spare parts available for them. to make sure I'll check it tomorrow with my spare parts supplier. unfortunately, I came across this problem. I own a 2001 xantia, which I can no longer use since I wasn't able to achieve spare parts for it. as per your remark regarding the Lexia, does you or any other forum member any recommendations for the right device, since I was told that some of the Chinese clones are not compatible with the C5 (even though they work well with other models).

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
I have got a Lexia clone from Easy Diagnostics. It works with my C5 Mk1 (2004), and has also worked on more recent C4s and Peugeot 407sw. It cost me £110 a few years ago. If you call them (ouch, that would be expensive from Israel) or e-mail them they are not only very informative, but they will ask relevant questions, and check things over with you. If you say you are a member of this forum they may (but I am not saying they WILL) not charge the P&P (unlikely, due to the long distance charges, but it has got to be worth a try).

By the way, you will need a computer to run it on. It is best if that computer is running a 32b O/S (I have mine running on a Toshiba NB250, running Windows 7 home (32 bit)), but it can be made to run on a 64b O/S via a Virtual Machine setup with good access to the USB systems.

Re: Your opinion regarding C5
I wouldn't say the fuel pump was the "worst" case scenario, but has been a reccuring topic. As for the Lexia, many members have ordered from Easydiadnostics in the UK, but they do ship worldwide. If you do get one from them, I would suggest you ask for Diagbox V7 and updates to V7.58, as the newer V8 are really only needed for post 2015 cars and have some functionality removed for some vehicles. You could always help out ther PSA owners local to you then if they need diagnostics!
