I didn't know that - when I bought the C4 picasso the salesman just said that the EGS box had been renamed.

I think the "Sensodrive" box fitted in the Pluriel was the first one Citroën used and was a problem right from the start, I assume it was not the same system (EGS) as fitted in the first C4s.

Agreed, if I was buying a pluriel the last thing I would be worried about was the sensodrive gearbox. A new roof cassette is in the region of £3800.
Make sure you don't forget your umbrella & that's when the roof is closed.

Apart from having a clutch that can go on these robot boxes and a DMF on diesels, the problems are the actuators and the implementation of the system.
AFAIK the actuators are all made by Bosch. I have read that even the Honda system uses the same actuators. Honda gave the system 3 yrs, then went back to CVT transmission.
