fan! I wont steel the wheels!!
I may borrow them for a long term test.
;)

erm.. tried to get tracking done today.. waited around for the mech to finish his lunch but in the end no tracking check achieved. he said he thought rear wheels leaning in and also the front tyres looked ok and saved me £30 and cost me 30 minutes..

made a special tool, to measure rear camber.. haven't looked at any evidence yet, but its a bit Heath Robinson ;) (Long timber, a camera on a tripod etc)

interesting to note that the rear track / or camber (or both, I cant work it out) is adjustable.. I may go for the full £60 laser alignment test in the week

so, no further today but the car was a pleasure to drive, and sometimes I wonder if I am just being a bit . you know..
I just thought a new X7 would push the old C5 into the dirt in handling and comfort terms, but it isn't.. yet.. not quite..

C5 S1 / FL were a damn good car on the whole.

Citroen call the adjustable link on the rear suspension a tracking adjustment.

If it's any consolation, I'm pretty sure my rear wheels lean inwards towards the top - and I'm on steel springs. I rarely remember to look at them when I'm parked on level ground so I'm not 100% sure they lean - just 99.9% sure they do :)
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

hmm thanks Bobins..
the multilink rear suspension doesn't lend its self to leaning in the same way the trailing arm set up seems to..
I may be imaging it , the rear arches do flair out more than the front..

I have those 19" wheels on mine. Car drives great and in sport mode, it sticks to the road like the proverbial to a blanket. In normal mode on a straight road, the car wafts along nicely. There is a feeling of "bounce" when going over rises (not bumps) in the road surface. This doesn't affect the steering at all. I only have cheapish tyres on (Avon's on front and even cheaper on rears). The only thing I get is a bit of a bang from the front suspension if I go over speed bumps a bit too quickly, although sport mode seems to help with this.

Nope, none at all. Only had rear passengers a couple of times, but no complaints at all. Much the same ride, but a lot softer, than previous S type jag and Rover 75. Much softer than my last car which was a Saab 9-3 but not a lot worse on the twisty bits with sport mode engaged.

Of course maybe it's just me who doesn't notice these things. I'm pretty sure I would notice my head rolling from side to side, but you never know, maybe it does that all the time. I'll ask SWMBO.
I can't think that I wouldn't notice if the ride was really bad, but we all have different acceptable standards. Maybe mine's a bit low. I'm off to Aberdeen in about 3 so I'll get a chance to check everything on the 1100 mile round trip. 8-[
