Heated seat, dealer and Citoen The Saga
Hello All
I still have a problem with my heated seat and it seems the dealer is having issue finding the correct parts.
From the information I have there is two different heated seat covers
Old dead one: EPI 271920 or 211653/803
New one: EPI 217920 or 211653/805
The plug for the two are different however the number of wires, color and size are the same.
The dealer is reluctant to modify the car loom or the new heated cover as the car is still under guarantee and "cannot" find the correct information
This saga started in February.
I have Citroen Service and cannot find any information about the heating parts of the seats.
Is there an adapter of some kind to join the new cover to the car loom?
Does someone has access to "Citroen" to find out what is required to help the dealer out?
Cheers
Jack

Re: Heated seat, dealer and Citoen The Saga
Just demand in writing they fix it within 21 days or fit NEW seats. That should get them working, how is this your problem is what I would like to know ?
That would not be Hartwells would it ?......DREADFUL service from a dreadful dealership with a dreadful workshop/manager. I had to write to Citroen HQ about them.
My story was maintained when I moved the car to their Bath branch which was run in an equally (in fact worse) CRAP way, in the end I had to do this on their Facebook page:

Whatever you do, don't be tempted to go to them
Is it a "Dealership Extended" type, eg not Citroen backed ?

I don't know
It's Worleys in High Wycomb.
I think they are doing there best on this subject, it is just so painfully slow the process.
What I have found ou is that the Approved Used Vehicle Inspection is not worth the paper on which it is printed on.
I have another issue with a tyre pressure sensor which should have been picked up and trying to have that resolved as well.

Re: Heated seat, dealer and Citoen The Saga
If it is a "Dealership Cover" then Citroen UK will wash their hands of you.....simple as that.
If it is a Citroen Cover, I would call their help line and moan about it.
One problem is it seems all parts are now held in France and there are two types of service supply, a free one and a overnight one that has a charge added. Guess what ones the dealers use ....my car was off the road for nearly three weeks.
Non Citroen service/parts managers cannot work out the Citroen system it seems.
If you call the parts manager at Avalon Citroen in Glastonbury and ask him nicely for his "help" he may be able to advise you about the parts numbers.
If it was me, I would always change the connector on the part rather that the connector on the loom.
Yep

I can't find any of those references - have you got your VIN handy and I'll check. I have all the seat cushions coming up but there are too many options without the VIN.

No Worries - I might not have anymore than you do, but at least we can ascertain Citroen Part Numbers - give me a second or 2!
Right - Here's the diagram. (I've PM'd you for an email to send the parts list off as it's too long to post here). According to this, 12 is the harness part for the Driver's seat 6505 A2 (or 6505 A3) for the passenger side.

Re: Heated seat, dealer and Citoen The Saga
Thanks Marc
I did have a look at this picture, but part 12 did not "talk" to me a all.
For me 12 is the electric connection from the seat to the car loom.
19 is the heated pad electronic unit, so we are looking for what is connected to it
What this picture does show is the heated seat pad or the cushion making up the seat

Re: Heated seat, dealer and Citoen The Saga
Regarding the seats - you have the Mistral grey leather, so there should only be one part number for this as only the leather seats are heated. I have just called up the other diagram for the padding and front seat cover. RP in relation to parts means 'Replacement Part', so they have been modified at some point. So 8864 56 (Left) or 8864 59 (Right) are the replacement part numbers for the seat lining cushions for your vehicle.
I was looking at the connectors using the other diagram which should hook up all the electrics to the loom. I have sent you another email. The second one contains the wiring diagrams for the heated seats and shows you the looms and interconnections.
RPO is the build date of your vehicle Jack. In your case, according to your VIN your RPO is 13477, which equates to 02/10/2013. Your Warranty started 18/10/2013 for info. Which means it is still under the 3 year warranty. So keep pursuing any issues. Further, when nearing the end of the manufacturers warranty, they may offer you a Citroen Extended Warranty - I highly recommend you take it out as long as the car is under 70k miles I believe. I've renewed mine by invitation twice now at about £250 a year and I'm so glad I did, with the crankshaft seal going (and knock on damage to my new clutch was covered) and the Steering Rack needing replacing, plus Air Con Condenser and several other things!

Hello Marc
Thank you very much for all the information, I will need some time to digest it.
The leather is black in my car, not grey so it could mean all the problem comes from that!
Thank for the info on the guaranty info, @ £250 it is very reasonable.

OK, no problems - the 'Mistral Matinal' as they call it is a dark grey - almost black as opposed to the 'Matinal Mistral' cream leather that I have. They only did the 2 - types for the X7. Having the VIN makes it easier to get the exact spec for your car as it left the factory - I'll send you the summary in case you want some bedtime reading!
