Citroen C5 Replacing the Pollen Filter

Post by vealg »

Hi,
I have a 59 plate C5 3.0 HDI Exclusive Saloon and the AC fan has started to make a clicking sound as if something is caught in the fan blade. It doesn't affect anything but is very annoying when driving for any length of time!

Can anyone suggest anything I can do to try and fix this.

I would also like to change the pollen filter and would like some advice on how to do this please.

Hi,

Not sure about the clicking fan blade but the Cabin (Pollen) filter is covered on a post - Fri Sept 04 2015 8:11pm.

It is removed from the UK passenger side. Remove triim below the glove box and above passenger's feet, carpety type material. Use a torch and you will see the end cover up to the right in the central air box. A plastic clip on the cover releases it. It will help if you are a small and flexible person, given the location, otherwise be prepared for some post fitting aches and pains.

There is a way of pasting the viewtopic that takes you to a previous post but I've forgotten how to do it.

Hope that helps.

Andy

Can't help you with the AC noise - but here's instructions for the Pollen Filter:

Pics shown are for a Left Hand Drive - for a RHD, the relevant trim is on the left hand side (clutch pedal side on a manual).
1) Remove the trim as stated above, shown as (1) on Picture below:

2) Unclip the Pollen Filter flaps shown as (a) on the picture.
3) Remove the Pollen Filter flap shown as (2) in the picture.
4) Then remove the actual filter (b) by pulling it out - however it is a tight fit and you need to 'play on the flexibility' of the filter to both remove it and fit the new one as it curves going in and out!
