The filler neck comes complete with the tank so the mis fuel device must be integral when built. It might be possible to remove it if you drop the tank and separate the filler neck from the cap mech outside. Otherwise you just need an insert the right diameter to spring the device - but your local garage might be a bit annoyed if you go along and hacksaw the end off a diesel pump on their forecourt....!! Given the current price of fuel and level of taxation I can't see that you're saving enough to make it worth the hassle unless you are doing 100k a year, but each to their own....

That's exactly the idea I had today at work. A short length of tube to push through the device. I just need to find out the diameter that's necessary.

Not obvious from Google, but it might be 24mm vs 21mm for the smaller petrol nozzle.
