Yeah, worrying for sure.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

And the last time Political Experts got their way they recommended (some say forced) us to buy diesels......in this they were supported by the very organisations that now declare "Killing on a Industrial Scale" & "Death by Diesel"

Ummm, the anti car lobby is very clever.

I wonder how much this Labour guy from Swansea is influenced by the Electric car lobby.

I watched his speech and was thinking bloody hell he's over the top, we diesel drivers are getting the blame for all the ills of the world.

As I avoid City driving when not delivering radiators I am not that worried atm, when I do it would be a Van if not using the estate car anyway so I would have to "pay the fee" anyway as in London.

Councils will see this as a money pit.....watch Bristol and what their idiot Mayor will do with this. He seems to think delivery drivers can use electric vans :)

Do not send them to Mr RedLegs in Bristol, he will use that as proof you can.

When it was pointed out to him that 85% of Vans in Bristol are oilers he just said they should change to Electric.....yeh hhha

What's the big problem? Diesels are filthy things. Petrol is much cleaner and a lot less NOx.

"40,000 people each year die prematurely because of bad air quality"..

I'm really not sure what the problem is in trying to find a solution to that and make people healthier..

That the very same people not 10 years ago were telling us to get them, taxing the fuel less, giving tax breaks to companies for buying them...ect ?

The same screaming "TAX IT" councils that have been running buses and fleets of diesels and are now spending a fortune on half arsed electric .....ect ?

There is now (thanks to the above) a massive stock of devil oil cars on the roads of the UK with sales of them 40-50% in the last 5-6 years.....scrap them, limit them to the country ? It makes you wonder who will benefit from that.

That's the problem.

The problem is people are tight and fuel was dear. They see only the CO2 figure and the mpg, think "cheap tax, less fuel". I admit I thought the same and ran diesels for years, but it was because I couldn't be arsed to properly research it like many. The particulates and NOx are a big problem, that can't be denied. Yes, we had the wool pulled over our eyes a bit but we must try and change it for the better I supoose.

The irony is that I bet some of the people complaining about this (I know it doesn't include you) will be the same ones blanking off EGR valves and de-fapping their diesel car, adding to the pollution issue.

I think you took the bait Ben, most of that is unproven scaremongering and your "Petrol is cleaner." statement is very doubtful.
