Not a good return from two weeks working away. Xsara being naughty (another post, I'm getting value for money today...) and now the cruiser's playing up:
Dry bearing rumble /groan /general not very nice noise from ancilliary area. I'm thinking choice of tensioner /air con pump/ alternater /steering pump - and possibly in that order.
Screwdriver trick - well there's a right racket from all of the available listen & touch points.
There's no Haynes for this, my info is a bit limited so I usually get a bit of research in before having a go.
Anyone changed the tensioner have any tips please?
(I'm thinking, take the belt off and have a spin of the suspects for starters - is loosening the tensioner off easy enough bearing in mind access?)
Cheers Guys.

Ok, ta for that. Don't think I'll get chance to look 'till Monday but if I can get the belt off & I'll take a look there.

Re: C5 2.2Hdi 2002
just got chance to get back to the C5 - now taking a look but I can't quite work out how to de-tension the (aux) belt.
Is there some way to move the tensioner - lever it to take off the tension?
Thanks!

Re: C5 2.2Hdi 2002
Done it. Just stuff on a 14mm long ringo to move it. Helper pulled off the belt. Alternator's not moving too well...
