I guess it was a private sale? - Did you query whether the previous owner took out an extended warranty? They cover cars over 3 years old with under 70k miles and can be renewed annually by invite? If so this would be covered under the warranty.
If above not an option - is there a reason why you can't take it back to the main dealer who replaced the height correctors and argue that it is still not right - and also query whether they calibrated the system properly when this work was done. If you can prove the pump is working fine - (system lowers and raises the car ok and that fluid levels are fine) ask them to justify how that arrive at a faulty pump? Ask to see the diagnostic report (let them know you understand these things) and that you will be in contact with Citroen UK after getting a second opinion if you think you are being fed any bull***t.
Next option would be to get a second opinion from another Main Dealer as you are not convinced - ask for a quote for a diagnostic and report first, then decide.
Next would be to post here for a member with an C5 X7 that has a known working kit for this vehicle. Might be worth a spin to a member's location for a session (weigh up against cost of a diagnostic and travel to and from another Main Dealer).
Once you have the codes (if any) and any possible troubleshooting pointers. Try and get a printout (or a PDF copy that can be saved onto a flash drive or emailed) of the diagnostic and any faults.
Then you can post back with some key information to try and solicit further help Dave. :-D
Took car to main dealer last week and it did'nt end well! see post here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... &t=1576836

Maybe give BL Auto a ring then, time for a discussion....I cannot see that they would NOT have a Lexia....at the bottom of the A1

http://www.blautos.co.uk/

(he says sticking his neck out for another specialist)

Have spoken to friend who suggested these people as they are nearer to me http://petersgarage.co.uk/ and spoke to them and they have got the updated lexia and charge £20.00 for diagnosis/fault codes,He's not a citroen specialist but knows his way around c5 ecu's apperantly.
When i drove the car this morning it was low and lumpy but wife has just driven it and says its now higher but still lumpy so the pump MUST be working but the cars ecu/bsi can't send the right signals to it due to sensors/height sensors misaligned or something similar?

Easy to test.

Park it, turn it off and leave the key in the ignition....then open the boot. Sit on the lip and bounce about 10/15 times....it should be soft.
Leave for a few secs then open/close the drivers door. The pump should run and the car should level up.

They already do, you bought a Citroen :)

You WILL get this sorted .....then you will have the best car on the block. It is one of the "problems" you have with these cars, not many people understand them or can work on them. When you find that person you will feel a LOT better about it :)

Also about a week ago the satnav/radio screen used to flicker like it was refreshing and 3 times the car just died(has'nt does it since as it was scary)
at the same time the gearbox seemed to clunk between changes and hunts between 3/4 gear, maybe its all electrical but i hav'nt lost faith in it yet and theres probably a really stupid fix?its just knowing what it is.

Just read all the palaver you went through on your other forum - I now see your reluctance to go back there. Complete imbeciles. Again, if the pump isn't engaging on door opening - it again smacks of incorrect height calibration as the ECU thinks the car is high enough already. Vab's links to the suspension height calibration docs are now dead - as it was a while ago, so after I've installed ServiceBox on my Desktop (3/4 done as of posting) I'll see if I can dig these up for the X7 and list the key bits of info within the post for future reference for all (if practical). Would be really useful if we could have a section for storing key documents on the Forum - appreciate storage costs - but maybe we should have a whip round for another Hard Drive for the server? :?: :-D

Re the gearbox.....all makers say "sealed for life".....that is 100-120K.....search for Gearbox oil change X7......people use two methods,
1. 1 Ltr at a time up to 5ltrs (?) with a filter change after the 5th
2; Power Flush of all the oil....$$ with new filter

This fixes the less than perfect changes and saves the box.

The car just had a service (november) all fluids at main dealer maybe the ecu is a bit out of whacko and needs lexia to sort it out?Or maybe i'm seeing problems that don't especially after the main dealer said the pump motor WILL fail :x

Main Dealer would not of changed the G-Box oil......it is "sealed for life" and is not on the service schedule for these boxes for any manufacturer who use them.

(I stand to be corrected on that).

The numerous problems all seem to started when i first got the "suspension fault 55mph" on the dash.
