C2 GT Manual Gearbox

Post by Pricer07 »

Hi, clutch bearing has completely gone on my c2. Ordered new clutch kit and the bearing that came with it, I think is wrong. Can anyone on here tell me which one I need? My reg is CW54 DTN, 1.6 petrol Manual. Ive looked on a few sites and it brings up the same bearing that I have but I cant see a way that it will fit on my folk. This is the kit I brought http://www.gsfcarparts.com/189pc0295. the bearing has a plastic back that looks like it clips on to something but the folk in my box doesn't fit to it at all. I see on some photos theres a bar that runs through the box that the bearing clips on it, mines doesn't have this. not sure how to attach photos otherwise I would.
Thanks in advance.

This is your clutch arrangement

It should clip into the end of the pivot on the box, is yours different?

Clip into the folk? I've tried all roads with no success. Should the manual gearbox bearing have the little wings on the ends? Might pop in to Citroen today with me bearing and folk.

Bearing doesn't seem to fit unless im doing it wrong. It opens it up too much

Looks like the wrong bearing to me.... It should clip onto the release fork as in the first photo you posted.

Here's a link to the correct bearing on e-bay which you can see is much wider. Hmm, or maybe it isn't on looking again! Perhaps your car has been fitted with the wrong release fork at some time?

That's the wrong bearing. That is the bearing for cars fitted with cable operated clutches i.e. P106,206,306, Citroen xsara, berlingo, saxo. The bearing for hydraulicly operated (and later cable ones) clutches do not have the 'wings' on them as they lodge inside the fork

I've just checked ECP website and they show a picture of clutch kit with the correct bearing for the valeo kit , but the wrong one for the transmech kit!

Finally sorted it. Got to send the clutch kit back and went to my local dealer and brought the right one for £70. Even Citroen had it down as the wrong one. Apparently the GT model has a different clutch and bearing. Thanks anyway
