8-[ Errr... Slightly confusing question, without any background to it... :?

Where are you seeing this engine and what is your interest in it?

Do you have any pics of it?

Is it on a pallet and wrapped in polythene?
If so then Malcolm mentioned it several times over the past few years and I will try and find a reference to it.

I had a quick search , and it appears that Citronut had a TUD5 (Saxo/106/Bipper?) diesel engine, brand new, on a pallet.

I quote from his post :"but i do have a brand new OE old stock TUD5 lump still on the pallet it came from the factory on, this is not a re/coned unit and it is for sale at the right price "..

There is a list of applicable cars for the TUD5 at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_TU_en ... 3_.26_TUD5
Besides a number of applications in the PSA Group's supermini models (AX, Saxo, 106) and Citroën Xsara, it was sold to other automakers who did not possess small diesel engines, such as India's Maruti who installed it in their Esteem and the Rover Metro from 1993 until the end of production in 1997. It also powered the diesel version of the second generation of the Nissan Micra in Europe, which wasn't sold in the UK.

If it's brand new it will be worth a bit. Don't get giving it away for peanuts. I should imagine recon engines are £600-800?

I think that would be very optimistic Dave... Value is relevant to demand and how long you want to hold onto the goods.
I'd be amazed if there's someone out there prepared to spend £600 (plus labour for fitting) to keep a diesel 106/saxo on the road...

You might (after checking freight rates) consider advertising it in France, where old, small diesel cars are more valuable, and more actively maintained.

Seem to be a few SH ones on ebay about the £150 mark - no idea if they are selling. Last use of this engine was maybe 12+ years ago? Sadly it's probably not worth much more than scrap. It might be worth going onto one of the Saxo / 106 sites (if any are still active!) and putting a post up; otherwise stick it on e-bay for £99 no reserve and see where that takes it.

Before doing that I'd suggest giving it a start price of £250 Richard she can always drop it later if it gets no bids. If I was nearer I'd punt £250 on it and sit tight on it until a buyer came along, I'd guess that was her husband's intention.
