MOT and tears of pain then joy.

Post by Stuart McB »

Mot due on the ZX td middle of Feb, so like a good little boy I booked it in with my local Citroen specialist a little early so as to get 13 months on the MOT ticket. Now I'm expecting a couple of hundred quid to pass but hay what the hell I've saved all me Christmas money, and skrimped on the wifes prezzies. Any how on the way home yesterday evening when what the bl**dy hell's that noise? got home had a look under the bonnet the noise was so loud couldn't hear the diesel engine. A sort of metal on metal sound like the watter pump or some thing more nasty. Any how this morning I phone the garage who was doing my MOT and asked them to have a look for me, if I could get it there they would have a look. So to work then beg a lift back from the garage (follow me up) then to the garage. Left it there asking for the usuall phone call at mid day. 1 o'clock the phone rang it's the garage, "your cars done it's the altenator a new one fitted £95, do you what the MOT done while it's here? as we've done a free pre MOT for you and there only a few bulbs and a sump gasket that need doing all in inc vat and labour £200,". £200 is that all? all in inc the altenator? " I replyed, "yes mate pick up about 4 o'clock to day,". How's that for luck all that noise from the alternator all in and an MOT for only £200 I'm chuffed to bits can't complain on a 11 year old ZXTD.
Had a look at the alternator that came off, what bearing it was completely knackerd far from being reconditioned. Got an oil 'n' filter change when the sump came off so nice clean oil. It drives like new. Took the long way home through some local country side with a big grin. Looks like the ZX gets to stay a little longer. [:)][:)][:)]
