Xantia 4030 radio code issues

I'm on my 3rd and final 4030 radio before I admit defeat and fit an aftermarket unit. The previous units two both had issues, of constantly switching stations and refusing to alter the volume, amazingly the same fault. Plus the display would miss parts out when it played up, some days it worked fine with a fully functioning lcd.....,and then the next it wouldn't stay on a station for more than 2 seconds.

I've as a last attempt bought a cheap £5 used 4030 unit off eBay which I have a code for but when I plugged it in I just got 4 lines and not the usual "code" message.

Leave it switched one contiunuasly tim ten mins... if after ten mins it still has lines then its on continuesly for ONE HOUR!!

it could be two hours then... How good are you at electronics? Get a 12v DC adapter, and make two + connections and a - connection at the rear, and just leave it powered on in the kitchen or something over night!!

Connections need to be to +VE and memory +ve, I think the connections might be in the cars original hand book... of not, Im sure it will be shown in tinternet somewhere!

Yea this is a case of someones jammed the wrong code in too many times. You'll have to leave it rigged up for a few hours if they've gone at it too many times.

Mine is intermittent at times, i put mine down to the wheel controls as sometimes it'll skip cds/stations if im using it while turning. As for the display, mine has a different blank segment each day, it needs the lcd connector cleaning but i'm not going to mess while the rest works! You sure theres not an issue with the changer/wheel wiring on the car?

I have suffered similar issues, and to be honest, any original headunit you get for the car is going to be at least 17 years old. Unless you're an absolute stickler for originality, I'd admit defeat immediately and get a decent unit like :

It's the only sensible solution really. Yes, steering wheel controls are a nice thing to have but this particular unit is mainly controlled by one big knob anyway..

My Xantia hdi exlcusive S2 has a JVC unit in it, with CD player, MP3, USB slot, Bluetooth with music stream AND Phone, plus a DAB digital reciver, and also has the steering wheel control box in it too so all works off the steering wheel...

If I could get a head unit to talk to the steering wheel controls I would be thrilled! I'm not a stickler for originality although I think the oe unit looks best.

After an hour and 5 mins the code sign came up!!i I inputted the code and it locked out again

My serial number is BP2492V3627877

And part number is 9626024080

Can anyone help?

Yea the Blaupunkts normally can be decoded from that BP number... UNLESS someone has been inside and messed around with it..

Me either. I did request a code online which didn't work, they sent me two, the first one was no good.
