Any warning lights coming on ? If it has been speed limited it's normally done by altering the ECU software. Its a strange speed to set a limiter to, the lowest one I have ever known is 56 mph.
At 40 mph it wouldn't even be safe to use the van on a motorway.

hi i am after some advice please i have been looking for a new body for my relay van but i have viewed 3 56 reg vans and all 3 have not had good sills so i have decided to break it instead. it is off army base and has done 23000 miles only. if i take the engine and box out to sell do i need to take the ecu out with it because i think the ecu might be faulty the engine sounds like new.it shows no faults revs great in neutral flies up to 40mph as i have said before any advice please

ECU is not required, whoever is fitting the engine can use their own ECU.
