I will make an effort to understand H3+ ..

the symptoms I think I have are along these lines:
If one of the front wheels goes into a dip/manhole etc that front corner drops in, the opposite back corner lifts up.. i.e. a diagonal movement.. this feels odd.. (not sure if this is both wheels or just one)

If one of the (possibly rear) wheels goes into a dip/manhole, the back of the car shakes sideways, as do the occupants.. - shimmies

The steering seems slightly heavy, but more so it doesn't really want to turn in - hard to explain, it just seems to not want to corner.. certainly it doesn't corner with ease and trueness like SF's does. (this could be tyre/wheel size) - the car also seems to understeer more than I would have expected..

The back does feel a little underdamped, although its not different from SF's tourer.. just a reverb from the back end after a bumpy bit of road..

some of these are just part of owning a very soft and quite new hydro X7, and that is fine, some of them maybe show a problem.. my first thought was a mechanical issue, a loose roll bar or too much rear wheel lean in.. it didn't occur to me to think mismatched spheres/ electrovalve issues etc..

The car had 1 or 2 new struts 2 years ago (a 4 year old car! ).. I don't know if the spheres were replaced.. the paperwork just says serious oil leak Nearside Strut, mot fail
would a lexia help tell me if the suspension was ok, or be able to test anything? I haven't tried as yet.. getting her to run was the main job of recent weeks :)

thanks as always , John

I may get someone to make some video of the poor car driving along from an external point of view
;)

and

its quite something, this suspension.. complex though and my mind is already wondering about small bits within struts and computers and so on..

John,

Over the years I have found it is usually the smallest simplist thing which causes the problem.

Like you I'm new to the X7 and H3+ and will have to do some reading up.

I finally got the lexia on the X7 last night..

a selection of faults logged but I was interested in the suspenion... I had a C1146 'rear body height sensor fault' and a U2005 'triggering (vehicle speed receipt anomaly)'

I cleared them and the car actually seem twice as good as normal, to the point i couldnt relly detect any odd body roll.. it could just be hawthornes law or what it's called..
I will recheck for errors later..

|L:egacy from the broken dog bone I bet.

BSI reset with a FULL battery : Log on Lexia, Clear all faults. BSI reset then a 1/2hour drive: then log on again and see what you have fault wise.
Getting there mate:)
