X7 repair bill game.....

Post by old'uns »

sooooooo...the X7 is in next Tuesday for a few 'small' bits and pieces
OH is now used to driving it as a daily and TBH i can't think of a decent replacement for the long drives to France every couple of months so we're biting the bullet and coughing up

* full service - needs one anyway
* Eolys top-up - 125k and just flashed up, i was convinced it had stopped working :?
* noisy alternator? bag of nails at tickover warm or cold, stops when revved, mechanic 'thinks' it may just be the 1 way pulley?
* DPF needs a clean out or a new one or a scaffolding pole :-D
*front suspension unit leaking, advisory on last 2 MOT's, 4-5 litres of LDS over last 6 months so i know it isn't just weeping

...and if i have any money left i may replace the sensor for the wipers/lights

x fingers we get it back by Friday and it's not too black a day :)

Do we need to account for the waiting time incurred due to Citroen not having any of the required parts in stock?

this could be quite possible.....no car back as yet, waitng for suspension unit, X fingers Monday and car back Tuesday night

No, you need a second car

we've got 2nd, 3rd and 4th cars although the Beat is away for winter , the Acadiane is still at a garage somewhere and the Cupra is in dire need of mechanical and Body restoration....and they're all manuals so she can't drive them anyway

OH not too impressed, house bound :-D

old'uns- 138 Auto armchair re-mapped to 170 'ish. Currently on 122k? - I thought Citroen ECU's were un-remappable (if that is a word?

There's no such thing as an un-mappeable ECU ... it just takes the right tool to do the right job ... :)

I spoke to someone on Friday about having our 3.0 HDi X7 remapped. It's easy enough to do but the ECU needs to be opened on a bench, not done through the OBD port so a lot of tuners won't do them.

First I've heard that the ECU can't be changed via OBD on the X7s ...

I hadn't heard it before either but this guy has an amazing reputation so assume he knows what he's talking about.

I think I've decided against it to be honest anyway, having driven it, the things like a rocket!

I'm thinking of juicing up mine, getting it to 200-210 bhp would make me somewhat happy ... so that my twin exhaust pipes project isn't for decoration only ... :D

Get it up to 200BHP+, next add a fuel line to the exhaust tips, and then you have got a pair of afterburners!
