Temperature sensor 2.0hdi

Post by Bick »

Hi guys,

i have a Citroen Relay with a 2.0hdi engine and i need to replace the coolant temperature sensor, the push in type. What make replacement part would you recommend or is it better to go for a genuine one. I ask as from following this site for many years it appears there are some makes of replacement sensors that are not up to scratch.

Thanks in advance for your experience in this matter.

I know its not a Xantia or a C5 but it still has a 2.0hdi engine in it.

Was it a daft question i asked? Or is it a case that no one has replaced the temperature sensor?

I replaced the temperature sensor on a 2ltr 8valve engine. I got the sensor from a Cit agent and it was less than a tenner

You did not ask a daft question, it was just that sometimes posts take time being responded to.

As far as a coolant temp sensor goes, any good make like Delco or similar should be fine from Ebay.
It is stuff like MAF units, electrovalves, Crank and Camshaft sensors that you need to buy genuine or OE.
