Wanted: a garage near Bristol with the testicular fortitude to do my rear arm bearings

Post by djoptix »

Usual garage did a lot of teeth sucking and sent me to a Cit/Pug specialist they trust.

Specialist looked at it briefly on a ramp, then I heard nothing for a couple of weeks... when I rang up they made vague noises about new rear arms from Citroen at somewhere around £400 a side.

I get the impression they can't really be bothered. I know that the arms themselves might not be in great shape but I just want someone to change the bearings and then I'll see how far it gets. Does anyone know of a garage that they trust to do the job?

I have never had a pair of arms damaged beyond use, even if they have a groove worn into them provided they have enough metal to hold the bearings firmly in position they are not going anywhere when its all put back together. I always fill the centre of the tube with grease.

Let us know. Last time I checked, the dealers price for changing all disks and pads was the same.
