Electric window stucked

Post by Christian S »

Hello!

I was to lower the right front electric window. It went well, maybe a bit slow downwards. But when I was to raise the window again, it just stucked. Lets say the windows is stucked 5cm from end. It can me moved up and down just a few cm.
Obvious the motor works. But how come it just stuck and refuses to move up?

It's an XM. Remember it's the same funktion as the left front side on cars in the UK. (My is build for right hand side traffic).

The car is standing in my garage and I don't now who to continue. How can I move up the window?

Get the door card off and have a look before you force anything, it will only break.

Will it lower ?, if so lower it to take off the strain and allow you to look at the guide channels for blockages.

The window is stucked 2-3cm from the bottom and can only be moved up and down a cm or two. I can't reach the plastic clip. It's hidden by the door side. It's status quo since yesterday. :(

The wire broke off :( So now I have to replace the wire with like 2mm steel wire or something like that. Cheaper than buying a new one.

Cable kits are readily available, e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/XM-XANTIA-ZX-AX ... 0381712764

You could contact citroenxm a member here who is currently selling off XM spares, and may have a good used winder assembly.

Isn't that seller the guy who also sells the diode mod kit (Roy ... e-crofting)? I'd have no problem buying off him with confidence.
