Thirded! I had a run-in with the stuffed shirts on that site,
So far I haven't had those run-ins on 'that site', but I have had the displeasure on a Dutch XM site, so I know how that feels. Thank ya all for welcoming me here :-D

V6 pumps are rare as hens teeth, DO NOT wreck it :)
I have acquired a pump with the number 092735 and date 07/98. It was advertised as new but appears to have been rebuilt. Outwardly it has all the characteristics of the 4007 Q9 pump with the square 4-bolt flange. The XM parts list does not have the 092735 part number. This number seems to relate to Xantia models. Does anyone know if I can use this pump to replace my 4007 pump?

I have posted the above also on the Citroen XM forum, but I think there are more members with Xantia models here. Maybe you could help me, Jim? Anyone's input very welcome, of course!

Well I am puzzled! lol
Every memory button I am pressing ... it brings up the number the memory button has ... (ie memory one types number 1, memory two number 2... and so on).
The problem is the 4 digit code has a 7!!!??? How on earth am I going to type a 7?

Hi Jan,

I'm very happy to confirm the V6 Xantia pump is identical to the ES9 V6 XM pump and the two can be freely swapped between... I have never noticed any significant difference between the two and whatever it is has no effect on mounting or performance as far as I can tell...

You must have the wrong code because on that model of radio you can only enter numbers from 1-6 as it is direct entry (press the number you want) rather than each button cycling the number of a particular digit from 0-9 like the Series 1 radios.

Kent, on the radio code side, you're looking at instructions for a totally different (the S1) wireless.. There you just keep pressing the button and the number increments up for each press...

The S2 wireless is different for code entry and for the life of my I can't now recall how it's done as I've only ever done one S2 wireless in my life... Done thousands of S1 ones though...

On the S2 you hold down BND until it says code then directly enter the 4 digits by pressing buttons 1-6, which means the code cannot have digits other than 1-6.

That is correct I press the band button and it enables me to enter the code (two failed attempts and then it locks)

I am certain this is a 7 lol.... that's brilliant the car has one owner and citroen prior to that. Yet someone managed to get the manuals mixed up! LOL

That Radio and that manual are not a match. Good news about the pump though.

Will I need to get the serial number of the radio to get the code retrieved?

Yes, you have half a chance of getting the code online using the numbers on the back of the radio. Citroen can help you for a fee, but if the head unit isn't the original they may not be able to.

managed to take the radio out and get the serial number.
I jet-washed the engine (like I have done with all the other cars I always had) but the Xantia being a Xantia ... now will not start lol. It ran for about 5 mins then died when I touched the accelerator. It will not start since.
So I let her dry this glorious sunny day hehe.
I only managed to lift her all the way up and all the way down, while she was running and there was no LHM coming out of the pump (this was part of the reason of why I washed her).

Here's a copy of the pages from my Activa's Radio manual that'll show you how to enter the code.

I think that's the wrong code for your car as like the others have said, it can't have a 7 in it. If that's written in the back of the radio book, there's also a good chance it's the wrong code as it's likely for the radio in the Series 1 car that the book belongs to.

Image

Contact your local dealer and ask them to get it, sometimes they charge a tenner, others they don't. It'll certainly be easier then bricking the radio.

With regards to the hydraulic leak, it can be done in situ but it's not easy. Personally, I'd rather persevere and do it where it is rather then removing the pump. It tends to only be the top seal that leaks so replacing only that one will probably see you home and dry. On the XM V6 it's a 5 minute job, the Xantia V6 its a bit more fiddly due to the engine bay being smaller.
