Sorry Kenny, no the HDi does not.. I was thinking you had a 1.9TD...

My bad... But yes, if the fans are on all the time that's the basic problem...

Great that you've sorted the height problem and all else looks good. :D

IIRC the Stop and Temp lights also come on (HDI) if there is a fault on/with the relays in the triangular box in front of the fans if the air con is called, either on switch or on de-mist. HTH

Thanks for the reply Harry,

I had much fun a few years back tracing an electrical problem with my fans in the 1.9TD, so I will have to get the multi meter out and start testing and cleaning all connections.

It shall be fun in this weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim,

I've got replacements galore but I'm going to check the relay base.

Interestingly, the relay is a 5 pin but on wiring diagram it is 4 pin.I've 2 4pin relays spare which are new from TD. Also I see the secondary supply for hhigh speed mode is run throught the double injection relay.

As long as the base is OK for it there is no problem in using a five pin relay as a four pin replacement Kenny... The five pin is a changeover relay with a normally open and a normally closed contact whereas a 4 pin only has a normally open contact...

Jim,

I couldn't get the forum until now, no idea why. But moving on..........................

The 5 pin change over relay shorted across pins number 4 & 5 melted down!
The relay base is the only one not smothered in grease.

Time for an update.
All the little niggles fixed.
I have 1 rattle at start up and switching off which I believe is my return pipe from steering pinion as the pipe'.s loose but the pipe end feels secure. I think it needs a final tweek.

Otherwise its running fine.

The standard bubble flares for the front brakes are not leaking. So anybody needing to replace them can get them made up.
