I am looking into changing my head unit which seems to be a minefield so I'm considering going for a XCarLink as the reason for the swap was to connect my phone both to make/receive calls and to stream music so leaving the origional head unit and adding this seems the safest option however, there are 2 models of this unit listed, one of which is specifically for VanBus..............how do I know if my car is VanBus rather than CanBus?

There are 2 types of network set up on Xsara Picassos. Comfort VAN only or VAN/CAN. There are no full CAN xsara Picassos. The changeover from comfort VAN to VAN/CAN was around 2002 so yours will definitely be VAN/CAN. I assume this is what they mean by CAN bus.
