C5 Tourer 2012 auto diesel

Post by ttellof »

I have just bought a c3 tourer 1.6. When the gearbox changes up it seems to have a short lag before it goes up from 1st to 2nd gear at about 1300 rpm. Is this the same on all 1.6 or is this another problem. Any views on this.

I do not know about the Auto on a 1.6, but on the 2ltr I do not get that.
Normally those type of gear changes are down to dirty oil in the Box. Oil changes ARE very important at 100k and above with mine, and use the CORRECT oil, choose with great care.

What is the millage ?

the car has done 92500 miles. I will be taking it in for a oil change next week so will let you know. another thing is the tyres. when l put in the registration into a tyre web site it comes up as 225/55/R16 98V yet the size on the side of the car is 225/60/R16 98V. I'm wondering if the difference will be ok. :(

Others will chime in (way more qualified) regarding the required spec for the gearbox oil, I would urge you to take their advice as modern boxes are very sensitive. You would be surprised what has been put in, it has given some of the guys here a heart attack at times :)

(Guys ?, oil type/make please).

To assist them, you need to post the cars Vin No to be 100% correct.

The 60s are what I fitted to My Mk1, they are cheaper as they are a more common size. This is it seems is not so with the original Michelin PRIMACY tyres but they are more $$ (But the BEST tyre by consensus ...it seems)
