Hi,
New forum user with 2010 60 plate C5 Tourer. The fan/heater/aircon blower appears to be running at full speed no matter what fan speed is shown on the display. I think the fauilt occurred immediately after the pressing of the "Auto" button, but not certain. Any clues/hints gratefully received. Have searched but cannot find this issue on here on mk3 as opposed to mk1/2 (possibly my search terms!)
Thanks,
Thekettleson

Does the handbook not cover this?

First place to look is the main fan control relay that is under the plastic cover on the fan unit, the big brown relay.

Thanks, will take a look.
And the description should say we now get full fan speed at all times whether "Auto" is on or off and no matter what fan speed is selected or indicated on the display.

EDIT....sorry, thought you were talking about the Rad Fan not the internal one.

If you press the A/C button and put both sides on AUTO the display doesn't show the fan speed or the direction of the vents because its on full auto and will automatically speed the fans up to maximum to achieve the set temperature asap. I find on a hot day if i go full auto on 15 degrees that the fan is slow for the first 20 seconds and then goes crazy fast for the next 15-20 mins depending on how hot it is. If its blazing outside (28+) they pretty much stay on max to retain the coldness in the car. If its in the early to mid 20's the fan does slow down albeit slowly. If you go the manual route can you adjust the fan speed according to the digital display? If you can its not the fan speed controller at fault and there's probably no fault.

you can force it into max, air con on, buttons on auto, select reverse and you get a full blow, also I think the "demist" button does the same and moves the flaps.
