I am running V7.15, and this worked without any issues on my previous C5.

The point i'm trying to make is that the electronic archtechture changed from your 200/2001 model to your new 2004 model. I don't have your old VIN but recall it was around this year, so I used my VIN from my 2001 110 SX C5. One has a BSI light and the other is a full multiplexed version - so it it possible that your old revision 'B' interface won't cut it on all the installed modules on this C5 - commonly acknowledged for the older VCIs.

Early C5s had different BSI units fitted - Low, Medium and High, depending on equipment options / trim and engine levels. In later years they fitted the top level BSI regardless to save on costs. That's why it is possible your older interface will not recognise some of the hardware.

The thing that is a bit bemusing is that my previous C5 the Lexia DID see the modules (which is how I found that a window issue was down to the module), and was made in the same factory 4 days before my current C5 (10041CJ and 10045CJ RPOs). It would be awkward if the switch happened between these two C5s!

I have managed to replace the safety belt. I have an estate car, and the relevant trim is held near to the reel by two screws. Once they were undone I had good access to the reel, so it was easy to replace.

I also appear to have (touch wood) cleared one error code that kept re-occurring. When she threw an anti-pollution fault there were two injection error codes that were common; P0100 and P0400 (they would clear using the Lexia, but they would also return). However, because of a glitch (unrelated; confused screen wash) I decided to try something. Using the Lexia I cleared the error codes followed immediately by a BSi reset. Since then I have had a couple of anti-pollution errors, but only for P0400. OK, I still have to nail this one down, but at least it seems one error has been resolved. This could be a useful trick for others to try, if needed.

Well, my C5 has passed her MoT with no advisories. I had to pick myself (and then my jaw) up off the floor!

Nice simple question (I hope!). Are the front calliper bolts 'treated' with thread lock? I know the rear calliper bolts are.

James,

Which bolts are you taking about the mounting bolts which hold caliper holder to hub or the sliding bolts.

Just done f/o/s caliper refurb and neither had lock thread.

The ones that hold the calliper in place. I think you have answered my question anyway, Kenny; thanks.

James,

They are very like the Xantia caliper bolts, if they have not been off before, plenty penetrating fluid soaking and give yourself plenty room for additional leverage. Once cracked, keep spraying with penetrating fluid and tighten and loosen the bolts.
On my C5 it is a T55 torx socket.

I have what I hope is a nice, simple question. I am looking to replace my current C5 (she has issues that I and a Citroen specialist have not been able to pinpoint). There are a couple of 56 plate C5 estates I am looking at. One is a VTR+, while the other is an excusive (both are manual with 2.0l engines). What is the difference in the normal specifications (ignoring optional extras)?

Thanks.

I hope this is an easier question to answer. How easy would it be to find out the status of a DPF on a facelift C5?

If you've got a suitable OBD device and a suitable Android device, then Faplite (free) claims to be able to "Check condition of DPF/FAP and additive level", though I'm sure someone will be along soon to give tales of woe or denounce it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... e&hl=en_GB

I've used Faplite for the basics and it's been fine for me.
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

The filter life depends on the version of DPF you have on the vehicle and driving conditions. Later DPFs have an extended life over the MK I C5s as they are slightly longer and have an Octagonal design. The filters for a 2.0L diesel should be checked at anything from 112k to 120k miles or at 100k for a 1.6L. They may work for longer than this, but the engine ECU counts up the amount of additive that has been put through the system and this is shown in grammes in Diagbox / Lexia. The amount of additive deposited ranges from 0-127g which is the alert level.

The additive level is only estimated and not physically measured. The tanks are not filled to capacity at the factory - so top ups should be undertaken at about 60-80k miles
