If this goes any further, I'll be the only thing getting deleted.

Wow, wasn't aware she was that old. Saw the film but didn't know who she was then and thought she was just a singer.

Spoke to the boss at the Citroen garage today and he agreed that it was going to be difficult to pinpoint the problem if it was starting OK when they got it in the garage. It could be expensive changing stuff for no reason. He also agreed with Dickie G in that a lot of faults are spurious and are thrown up for various reasons, sometimes for a split second, but they are logged so they appear. They fan one did come back though, but the guy said it would be unlikely to cause a starting problem. He also said the ECU does not have a cooling fan so it must be the engine cooling fan, or the A/C.
It seems like I'm going to have to wait until the fault reoccurs, then call the warranty people. Problem is, they will send the AA, who's main job is to get you going. What I need is, to have the non-starting car recovered to the Citroen garage.
Just my luck that the problem would go away as the car was being recovered!

Can you not borrow a Lexia for a week, then plug it in before starting if it fails, that way you can save to report and view the fault.....tis the only way I can see to find the problem without luck.

The problem being is that the car evidently isn't recording a code so unless you're familiar with all the readings on Lexia/Diagbox it's unlikely you'd be able to pick out what is wrong.

Unless, that is, it was one of the ones that were initially there, and that then cleared when told to do so. OK, I should have looked deeper into all of them, but I wanted to see what (if any) would come back.

Personally the way I'd go with this is to do another diagnostic session a few hundred miles and a week or so after the first reading and see what's there but I wouldn't bother worrying about the fan code, as I reckon that's spurious.

I think I've done about 5 miles since Hellrazor had the Diag-box hooked up last Wednesday. That's about my average unless I'm going to Aberdeen.
