Car has 136k on original clutch/ flywheel but been getting vibration and clattering noise from gearbox on lifting clutch pedal. This is what the bearing looked like when we got the gearbox out.

I have done a couple of clutches lately, one of them had totally eaten the thrust bearing, nothing left but the plastic bit. always the thrust bearing and the spring it runs on though.
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

At least it's not in bits wrapped around the clutch fork asthey often are!

I won't mention what state the DMF was in after 136k.... mullered is an understatement.

When we did the clutch on my mates 2.0 HDi 16 the friction plate was barely worn, but the inside of the DMF was flopping about so much that it was catching on the outer edge, and a whole load of alu dust fell out when we removed it. No wonder it was noisy in use!
