Latest two texts on Malcolm; "Dad opened his eyes this evening for a good few minutes! XX".

Followed by; "He is still being ventilated to support his breathing, today he was off the sedation again until about 8pm. They have lightly sedated Dad for the night so he can rest, but will stop it again tomorrow. Danny (the nurse) was cleaning Dad's mouth and he opened his eyes wide. Danny said he didn't think it was just a reflex this time as Dad was blinking and every time Danny closed Dad's eyes Dad opened them again. XX".

Good news indeed! I'm hoping that these are the first signs of a longer term recovery. All best wishes to Malcolm and his family ...

Good grief, it just shows what you miss when you aren't visiting the forum regularly! Can't believe I hadn't seen this thread until now...

I have never met Malcolm but have certainly talked to him via the forum plenty of times over the years..

My best wishes go out to Malcolm and his family and I hope that he pulls through as soon as possible. =D> :-D

It's good that Malcolm has such a caring family around him at this time. At this stage of his recovery it's such a stressful time for all and sometimes appears as one step forwards then two back. But ... time is everything here. The longer Malcolm can fight this the stronger he and those around him at this time become. Best wishes for another good day ...

Just catching up on this, sounds like there's some positive progress overall, so that's excellent.

Must say this update did make me chuckle:
