"Hi; sorry but had to be at work, and then forgot I had not texted! Dad has a bleed in his stomach, so they have stopped the feed via the tube in his stomach and are only feeding Dad intravenously. I think they may scan Dad today. Dad has a temperature, but BP is stable as is his kidney function. XX.

When I phoned ITU this morning Dana (his night nurse) was busy washing Dad. Then, when I managed to speak to Dana it was almost time to take the boys to school. XX"

Latest on Malcolm; "Hi, Mum's at hospital and just called. The blood in Dad's stomach is old blood, temperature is probably an infection. They are reducing the sedation again with the view to waking Dad up. Mum has been told he may not wake up tonight though?! Can't wait to see Dad for myself tonight. XX".

Latest bulletin; "Hi. Dad's had a stable night, only BP dropped a bit low. They have given him fluids and BP was coming up when I called. They will continue trying to wake Dad today as long as nothing else changes. XX".

"Hi all. Dad is off sedation, but still sleeping (lazy bones)! I will be poking him as soon as I can get there. He is still ventilated, but (as he was last night) making attempts to breathe. BP is on the low side still, and temperature a bit high. He has had a chest X-ray which shows his chest is better than it was. I think they are planning to do a CT scan (just routine). XX".

Two further updates. Sorry for the delay.

Last night; "Hi again! Dad is breathing for himself; he is still on the ventilator, but it is only assisting when needed. Just as we were leaving Dad's eyelids moved a little. Danny said it could be just a reflex!"

This morning. "Hi, Dad was a bit uncomfortable last night so they have lightly sedated him again. His temperature is fairly high. Doctor will review this today. XX".

EDIT; I was slightly confused re Danny (I thought possible typo), but it turns out that Dana and Danny are looking after Malcolm and "both are really great and two of our favourite nurses!".

Two more updates; "Hi, not much to report. Dad has had a CT scan today. Shows Dad has an inner ear infection! Lungs are good now and Dad's breathing with only a little assistance from the ventilator. Still slightly sedated, has opened his eyes a couple of times. XX".

"Hi, no real change overnight, BP and heartrate fluctuating a bit, and still sleeping. XX"

Just noticed the thread, Chris Salter mentioned the other day that you weren't so good.

Will keep checking back for the updates.

Keep fighting Malc, we know you've got loads of PERCYWATSIT!

May the G Force be with you!
