Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6
Never heard of one being changed. LHD will of course be different to RHD. Have you checked that it is not misrouted or externally kinked?
Pedal catching on carpet?

Well the experience certainly go my heart racing .....
The pedal is free from carpet....
It seems to be catching somewhere in its run, the pedal stayed on the floor but it only sticks of FULL pedal down, cable runs free normally
It was late last night so I left it but it could be that I have made the problem after doing the swirl pot.......
Can anybody take a photo of the cable end mount in the engine bay for me.....I not sure about mine being correctly fitted.

Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6
I am not sure how it could be incorrectly mounted. But I suppose with skill anything is possible.
It does not seem very photogenic, there are things in the way at every camera angle. The cable run on the XM is a bit different anyway, as the XM air filter is mounted differently.
Check the cable angle where it emerges through the bulkhead, there should be a fairly gentle bend and radius at that point.

Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6
Hi and ta
It is the cable end to the throttle body I need a pic of, I "thinks" there is a washer or guide nipple missing, also looks like a "clip" is not there but I would like to check on a standard setup.
......the cable run I will check by the "long-arm" method whilst mounting the engine in a non-sexual manor (My Lord)

Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6
The cable comes in from the firewall between the engine and the drivers side strut top, along the side of the ECU box (should be clipped into two clips on the box) curves around and is clipped to both ends of the radiator then curves towards the throttle body.a few inches before the throttle body the cable should be supported by a plastic clip.
So basically the cable follows a J path, and shouldn't be bent too abruptly particularly at the ends of the radiator otherwise I can see how it might bind a bit.
If you're desperate I can take some photos of mine tonight.
Edit: Yours is LHD ? If so the cable routing is completely different and I can't help you...

Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6

Had a look in my Flickr account - you need the "BBCode" from the "Share" menu.

Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6
IIRC when I had a V6 the cable could get caught on the quadrant the cable slots into on the butterfly spindle in some way but can't remember the precise detail.

Re: ACCELERATOR CABLE Xantia V6
Yep, that works.....my cable "screw" (the one with the stop clip on it) comes out as far as the clip mount which in turn has no clip on it......seems like I need to adjust it somewhere.
