You can't do much about incompetence. But another query (through the ebay question system ) might get a different answer.

If you search eBay (UK) for 2150x7, there is another genuine one, and a pattern part.

Searching google theres many possible suppliers, for example here.
If you can't get a Citroen one I don't see a problem with OEM so long as you get a brand you trust.
I had a struggle getting one for my car, got lucky on ebay in the end with a genuine one but was about to buy Delphi.

Spoke to a very helpful gentleman from Dryden Citroen (Ebay) and will order one on Monday after checking if there are any express postage options.

At last Snoopy is back on the road and the clutch is light enough for me to happily drive her

The local garage tried a third party clutch cable made by ABS but it would not work so they had to remove it again. Got the genuine part from Ebay and that worked like a dream.

However, I get the impression (could be wrong, hope I am) that there are not many genuine Citroen auto adjusting clutch cables (for my model) left now, many of the sites on Google showed they had them but I found they didn't actually have the part when asked, so be warned
