Umm....I gave in as they are replacing under the cars extended warranty......it's a shame as I would of liked to repair it.

Sorry to hear of the "Pigs" problems Sticky, but at least it should be sorted at no cost to you - always the inconvenience though. BTW I too require rear mudflaps (none fitted) so if you find any......

thus happy.....

However, the cost of the warranty was a payment, just my £25 transfer fee has paid off for me (but NEVER has for household insurance). Ya pay ya money and play the game.

However the odds are FAR FAR better for me than them with a C5x7 than a Ford due to the cost of the "Common Faults" found on that type....this forum is great for this info before you change cars, the warranty inclusion in the cost of purchase was one of my "Prime needs" along with the correct Citroen suspenders and a 2ltr Auto. (I have always been convinced Autos are more gentle on the car long term).

For the Xantia, I think this type with external fittings is better than the original (unless you only use it for shows/summer.

I agree Sticky.
Years ago,(far too many), I always purchased s/h auto engines for 2 reasons. They were in a marginally higher state of tune and with auto it is difficult to abuse power take up and overrun. I well remember a colleague breaking a drive shaft playing the boy racer in a manual. Not someone you would ever accept a lift from

Did the Drive shat in a SAAB Carlson I had, the bloom of flame as the oil hit the hot exhaust prompted a Bus driver to run over to pull me out....he said it looked like the whole front exploded (Hot summer day, tires hot, road hot with high grip surface at some lights, dropped the clutch like the young idiot I was and boom)

Why can't you have the old pump? Remember if the extended warranty is offered by Citroen as opposed to the dealer, the dealer just invoices Citroen. Never let it be said there are dodgy dealers out there but the guys at Citroen want the damaged part as evidence. Same as if your Telly breaks under warranty, the dealer takes the old one back. What do Citroen do with the pump, throw it in the bin without even looking at it. It is called life in a world where too many folk are after a fast buck [emoji19]
