They can't see any leak after regasing and retesting so they think it could be a leak behind the dashboard. Don't think I am going to bother tbh if it is just a matter of topping up a couple of times during the summer unless there is another solution.

IF the leak is still there....and is now behind the dash "they think"....who told you to change/renew the condenser rad ? was it a guess or was it the re-gas/air-con firm ?
does the condenser really leak then ?

for what it is worth, I would not be happy with Air-Con gas leaking into my cabin

Will find out in the following days - I am sure there is a leak somewhere and was surprised when they told me that they couldn't find anything. Didn't ask what tests they did though. They suggested getting a car aircon specialist to have a look but getting fed up paying £££ just for diagnostics and no fix.

If you fancy a run up the M4 I'll look at it with my UV light and sniffer, if it's had dye put in it it'll show up somewhere, if the leak is from the evaporator then the sniffer will detect gas leak out through the vents.

Thanks Dickie. Will see how things are with work. Is it something that needs to be done while there is still some gas in the system?

Strangely enough the aircon has been working fine for over a month. Don't think the air is as cold as it should be at Low, but keeping the temp at 20 C has been fine. Not sure why it is working now after a month when it just failed after a few days with the first regas. I do keep it on all the time now.

I can see the condenser connected at two points at the same side - one higher up (label attached) and one lower down which I can only get access from underneath the car. Is there anything else I need to remove?
Had a go and there is certainly enough room to remove the condenser but can't remove the lower connector. Seems that you have to remove the bumper to get proper access to this last nut from the front of the car?

I wouldn't touch that site - it's full of malware Jay. Are you referring to removing the condensor?
