Engine confusion

Post by Brian56 »

Hi Guys,

Can someone clear up engine configuration for me?

I have a 2006 Xara Picasso 1.6 16v petrol. NO problem? Well yes it is, several times I have attempted to buy parts from online suppliers where you input the registration for the vehicle and you get a list of compatible engines, except is always says the part won't fit my engine!

Last year I stupidly left the oil filler on the block after topping up, resulting in me going down to the main dealer to get a new one. It had to be ordered in specially because the 'standard' one doesn't fit my engine! When it arrived the parts man showed me the two together, mine is smaller in diameter and longer than 'standard'

So what model engine does it have and why a difference over the other petrol versions?

These are the last digits showing in the windscreen--25775880.

I de-registered it as a UK car last December and it is now Spanish registered. My current problem is sourcing an aircon compressor, with so many types/makes I'm having a heck of a job choosing the right one to fit.

service.citroen shows engine type as TU5JP4

Of the AC compressor it says:

6453 QE
RP 98 008 222 80

01
01 NEW COMPRESSOR
SANDEN INT- - SD6V12 1449

6453 QE was the original part number, now superseeded by 98 008 222 80.

and shows a compressor bolted onto the block with front/rear bolts rather than the more normal side to side.
