Leather seat switches

Post by osx »

Need to check the back massage switch of the drivers seat. Any ideas how to remove the cover so I can check and replace the switch if needed?

Once the seats are out the old style were quite easy to access....IF the bolt downs are the same for the runners.

....remove the rear fixing first and withdraw screw completely.
there are washers UNDER the runner between them and the floor, you have to stop these spinning until the screw is all the way out, you can shove a screw driver in them to stop them moving.

....the seat will lean back OK, again with the Mk1/2, there was no need to unplug if not taking the seat out from the car but the connectors are easy to access once the seat was tilted.

(Shoot me but) I do not think there is any way you can do that without taking out the seat to get to the switch....not on the Mk1/2 for sure
It is not a big job, 4/6 torx screws per seat. As said, when tilted back you should be able to access the switches /and/or the fixings holding the plastic surround.

What torx key would I need?
