Welcome to VTS ownership!

The numberplate lights may be fitted with the wrong LEDs , they need to be canbus error free.
I've found the gear change quite clunky & I like it!

I can't recall my gear change being floppy Mike. There's maybe adjustments in the linkage/cables. They are fun, I always thought it persuaded me to drive like a hooligan! I think it was due to the car not being very torquey and loving revs.

The number plate lights went out after a couple of mins. Residual voltage? I'm not sure. They were dim, not on full.. now dark.

The gear change is exactly like my Berlingo. It's quite clunky but the gears are physically miles from each other compared to the TT.

Of course , I need to get the wheels balanced as they vibrate at exactly 70 ( why does every car I buy do this? Doesn't anyone drive on the speed limit, or do they simply have no feeling in their hands?) and it needs a clean but that's for tomorrow if I don't go to Robertsbridge.

If they go out after a while, I'd bet it has LEDs as stated earlier.
I expect you're right about the gears, my other cars have been auto for a few years & my kid's & wife's cars are Clios!

I've heard Resolfens can be hard to balance.

I think it's one of those capless push fit bulbs. Do you have the handbook with the car? If not you can download one on C4owners.
You can get a BoL, but it's not for the VTS version so only generic bits are useful (well as useful as any Haynes!)

I'd like to clean it properly but I don't want to go overboard with fancy waxes and stuff as it'll only get used once.. I'd like to wash it, clay it, and give it a good wax.. or whatever it is you people who know more about this cleaning stuff than me!
