Have been having problems with my drivers front window.
Firstly it wouldn't open. Lots of little up and down movement with the buttons eventually free'd it off but it's slowly got worse.
The mechanism sounds gritty if that makes sense.
Now it's automatically re-opening when it reaches the top of the travel.
Is this a mechanical part or sensor or just it all needs a good clean up and lube??
TBH the car doesn't get much use ... can sit for a few weeks at a time without turning a wheel.
Would a BSI rest help?
Cheers.

I think you need to take off the door card and clean the crap out of it.bigblackfalco wrote:Have been having problems with my drivers front window.

Yes sounds like the cables have started to corrode. I will give it a good clean and lube and see what effect that has.Stickyfinger wrote:I think you need to take off the door card and clean the crap out of it.bigblackfalco wrote:Have been having problems with my drivers front window.

Just pulled the card off and applied liberal dousing of GT85 to the tracks/runners, cables and motor connecting parts. Running sweet now
