I've owned BXs for years but this week my favourite MOT spot has decided that my front wheel bearing (o/s) is too noisy - do I really need that citroen special tool to replace it ?
Thanks Peter T

No, you do not need special tools. The bearing however is very tight in the housing
you will have to machine a drift (bar of steel the correct size) to drive the bearing out of the housing the hub must be removed from the suspension unit. The bearing must be driven on the large diameter only and do not forget to remove the circlip sometimes it is rusted solid. Fitting a new bearing is
more tricky as they are easily damaged only attempt this if you are familiar with fitting bearings.hope this helps.
