Not Citroen But has anyone had a similar experience

I posted this on the Renault Forum .. But then thought maybe there might be similar problems with Citroen/ Peugeot cars.

I'm posting on behalf of a friend who is experiencing strange electrical problems with her Captur. She lives hours away from her main dealer in Edinburgh, days infact, (in Shetland) so when the dealer had the car for a service and couldn't reproduce the fault he said she must be imagining it..not very helpful.. So I'm posting on here hoping that some knowlegable person might be able to help or even give a pointer to where the problem may lie.

Right, biggest problem is that after about 20- 30 mins of driving the full beam headlights will not come on.. the only way to get them to work again is to stop and restart the engine (a soft reset?) As you can imagine driving on island single track roads, the lack of full beam is really annoying.
The second problem is more intermittent but equally as mystifying.. Occasionally the wipers will just start up without any input, at full speed and will continue until the stop and restart is done,
Does anyone have any ideas?

UCH unit on a Renault. I never answered on the Renault section as it is a bit complicated to diagnose.
Without being plugged in to Clip on live data , I don't see how she is going to solve it without stripping and testing relays. Could be damp or poor connections affecting resistance somewhere.
