Forte DPF Cleaner

Post by ej2095 »

Hi all

I have a c5 v1 2.2 hdi 2001 plate.

As i drive a whole 4 miles to work ecery day get the message pop up saying "Unblock disel filter"

I know its the dpf moaning. So if i go on motorwat it goes into limp mode anti polution fauilt etc so revs dont get high.

But to be fair i did drive from one junction to another turned it off and it went off jumped back on the motowar for another 8 miles and it stayed off.

But within a week the message came back..

I am thinking i didnt drive long enough on the motorway..

Also the car did think the fuel cap was off for the last 6 months as the magnets had vanished some where. (Added some new ones and they are fine now)

So if i get this forte stuff wang that in tank and jump on m5 junction 2 to juntion 13...

hopefully this should stop it moaning

and maybe not is more likely.....I would say it has sooted up and needs to be jet washed.

You need 4th gear, 70 MPH, 15-20 mins if you are lucky, get it really hot and hope.

I do not think the Forte stuff is good for an Eolys system either....Eolys is a differant chemical and thus will have differant properties, I have never liked mixing chemicals and then expecting the same chemical reaction..chemistry told me at school that it is bad practice. If as you say the system is now working then overloading it will just block it more as there is no air flow to get the heat up...let the system work correctly or take it off and clear the soot blockage with a jet wash.
