The standard Trafic type D bush is about the 20-21 mm mark. It does have the flat on it though. Those bushes probably don't have the slit in them so have to be fitted from the ends? Hence factory fit only ..maybe. They probably don't trust operatives to scratch the powder coating in putting them on.....

The x7 will be getting a severe mark down as a future banger........if you have to spend that amount. Try FEBI list for bushes. Some of the German or Polish Ebay sellers do Febi.

@ lexi

Yep, have been looking at FEBI and Powerflex....the are some Pug ones that "look" the same....I will know more tomorrow when I can measure them. I see ZERO reason not to chase this as it should be a simple solution once a bush has been found, as you say lots of choice and I am even happy to convert the brackets to a simpler design because I cannot see me giving Citroen that many notes for what shoul;d be 30 quid !" :)....hehehe..my mate Mark up the hill is a Pro Welder and the MIG should be warmed up a bit :

Do you mean, the C5/C6 bushes are 30mm (thicker ARB than 407)? If so, could they be reamed out? Or, y'know, "persuaded"?!

Yep, and that is the plan BUT....the broken up bits of powder coating are destroying the bushes so I need to replace them...BUT.....Citroen will only sell you the roll bar and bushes as one unit ! (and I am a tight fist'd persistent arse). I think that is wrong :) (note: .....unless there is a good reason for it)

PowerFlex is only 5 miles down the road.......I will phone them/go down and see them.....will report back

Later 407s went to the combined unit, but it appears that no C5s had the bushes available separately. The roll bar clamp is different for the two types. Don't understand your comment about the size? You said yours was 21mm, and the bushes in the link are 21mm, where does the 30mm fit in? Hyd C5s seem to have a variety of roll bar diameters and stiffnesses - they must have been playing with the fine tuning of the suspension:

REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR
15100N/MM
- REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR DIAM 20
5170 E4
RP 5170 G0

- REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR DIAM 20.5 UNTIL RPO 11518
5170 G0

DIAM 20,5
- REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR DIAM 20.5 SINCE RPO 11519
5170 E6
RP 5170 G1

20300 N/MM
- REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR DIAM 21 UNTIL RPO 11518
5170 G1
01
DIAM 21
- REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR DIAM 21 SINCE RPO 11519
5170 E7
01
22900N/MM
- REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR DIAM 21.5

I expect polybush can make / supply some, but you may well need to take them off the car as a pattern.

Hi mate

The 30mm comes from the Pug range....same shape but 30mm so a no no for Citroen ones as a direct replacement.....I thought I had found it but maybe still OK as a pattern>..

Does not look like much of a bar thickness update/change to me except its stiffness (which is controlled by the material and not primarily its thickness ?), 1mm increase is not a lot but the "stiffness" thing is noted in the road tests and maybe reflects the modern AUDI>BMW tooth rattling trend.

the hunt continues for some bush !.......

No one knows if it is the same outer shape as the X7/C6 one yet, I have not seen one off the car yet .......its early days as I have time before mine fail to much hence the search. There are lots of 21mm bushes but the outer shape must match the profile of the brackets as well doesn't it.
or
.... Are you saying you know this is a swap ? and fits the X7/C6 type ?.

my present roll bar condition, you can see the mess under the cracked/brittle crap powder coating. Having had a closer look I think I may be able to clean them up, paint and coat the edges next to the bushes? what do you think ? urgent change or just clean ?........I will still arrange for a change I think to rid myself of the need later

And my temp repair to the dog bone...a tiny weld for me and my skills, esp as I had to avoid melting the inner plastic scocket.
