Where to buy a siemens maf at the best price?

Post by SwissSPEC »

I'm trying to look online to find the cheapest priced genuine Siemens maf to fit my C5 2Litre hdi 8valve estate 110bhp on a 2002 plate.

I've found eurocarparts will sell me one for £83.94 gulp, does anyone know of any other places which are cheaper?

It must be a genuine maf rather than the chinese cheap rubbish found on e-bay etc....how do i know this :(

Many thanks.

Looks like a good price for a VDO original....

Maybe 2nd hand ?, its worth it if you get a good one.

I have just fitted an ebay maf to my C5 2.0 HDI Estate and all seems good so far - no more anti=pollution fault warning and no limp mode!

I tried an ebay one (£30) which lasted a few months....then went to a scrapyard and and got the original part (£10.00) ......that was about 1 year ago..... I'd rather an old original part than an ebay copy

The pattern parts have a dreadful reputation. VDO (formerly Siemens) is definitely the one to go for.

Is there anyway on a lexia or equivalent to test whether the maf is working correctly or not? Does anyone know what the paremeter values a correctly working one should show? I don't want to change the maf if there isn't anything actually wrong with my cheapy.

If you disconnect it and you are still in limp mode then the MAF is not the problem.

Hi osx, sorry i don't get what you mean, the car appears to be working fine, so removing the maf to cause a fault isn't going to tell me anything?

If you get it on a Lexia you can see the air flow. 400 is about the right figure at idle for a 2.0 HDi - it should rise smoothly with revs. If you disconnect the EGR valve the flow should jump up.

Does anyone know the correct siemens vdo maf sensor number that i need for a 2002 c5 2.0hdi 8 valve 110bhp engine? I've tried searching for the info & can't find out exactly which one it is, i found one for the 107bhp version of the same engine, but not the one i need??
